Everyone knows the cathedral Notre Dame de Paris but the story of its construction is less well known. You will learn about the stages of the building of a cathedral via the different crafts : stone-cutters, carpenters, roofers and glass artists and the many techniques and materials used to construct this masterpiece of Medieval archtecture. The visit begins with a short presentation of gothic art, its origin and purpose. We continue with a description of how the architect follows the plans and manages the technical constraints. We will see how other architects played a part in the building which lasted nearly 200 years.

Get ready to go back in time and witness the development of this extraordinary construction.

A famous prison, Famous Prisoners.
Why did the Conciergerie become a prison and what was its function before that ? What was prison life like there ?
We will answer all these questions. We will immerse ourselves in the centuries that have made the history of this magical place. We will get to know some of the most famous prisoners and their daily lives. We will hear about the jailer, not often mentioned but essential to the story.

La Sainte Chapelle
No expense is spared one you love something enough ! This certainly applies to King St. Louis who, through his policies and beliefs made France "The eldest daughter of the Church". For this reason, he acquired he most precious objects in the history of Christianity, the relics of Christ's Passion. He needed a setting worthy of them, hence the Sainte Chapelle. It is this jewel in the high Gothic style that we will discover. 618 sq. metres of stained glass windows will illuminate this historic visit.
We will go back in time and decipher the symbols and "read" the windows. In a word, Welcome to the 13th Century.
